Maria Cecilia Montero was born in Lima, Peru and moved to the U.S. in 1980. She obtained her M.H.D.L. degree at UNC Charlotte and her M.A. degree from UNC Greensboro.
After teaching Spanish at a college level in the U.S. for 11 years and practicing psychotherapy since 1992, she now teaches, writes and has a private practice where she brings her perceptual abilities to task in the fields of healthcare and creative business coaching and development while residing both in Peru and the U.S.
Cecilia represented the Inca Tradition with a sound prayer at the Global Peace Initiative of Women Religious and Spiritual Leaders at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland in October, 2002.
She is the Founding President of the Latin American Women's Association of Charlotte, North Carolina and currently on the Board of Directors of The Jacinta Fellowship, non-profit organization with humanitarian programs in Peru.
